There’s Only One Shot at Glory!

“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col 1:27 NKJV)

“”Christ in you.” That is the great miracle, the great mystery, the fact on which all the other facts of Christianity are based, and through which the other forces of Christianity become operative.” G.Cambell Morgan, Christ In You, the Hope of Glory

I stand in awe of God, no man could manufacture the steps He has clearly done in working out salvation for us. God becoming flesh, coming to live amongst His creation.  A virgin birth, the Holy Spirit over Shadowing a virgin girl and she becoming pregnant, with the Son of God, Immanuel.  The cross, a heinous, grotesque death! The resurrection, a triumphant miraculous conquer over the grave, what could be next?  Jesus in you! No mortal mind could have conceived it, Jesus not only died for us, but now Jesus has chosen to live in us!

We are to be little image bearers of Jesus, but we also walk and live with Jesus living in us.  God has covered all the basis, He didn’t just want to give us an image on the outside, without the proper Spirit abiding on the inside. This is that treasure Paul spoke of dwelling in earthen vessels(2 Co 4:7).  The beloved Son, who pleased God well, now dwells in us!

This is one of the many realities, that is completely Spiritual and stands a point of contrast, from the world religions.  Jesus not only died for our sins, but now has taken up place to live in his people.  This is the spirituality of Christianity.

G.C. Morgan, was right, upon this truth “the other forces of Christianity become operative.”  How is it that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us?(Phil 4:13)  How does God work and will in us according to His good pleasure? (Phil 2:13) To both of these the answer is simply, Jesus in us. We can have power, because Jesus’ life is power and it strengthens us.  God works and wills in us or rather God exerts effort and intent in us all through the life of Jesus that resides in us.

The plan of the salvation of man, is a divinely inspired event unfolding before us all, and in us all.  At each soul that comes to Jesus, Jesus comes and is birthed in them.  Nothing short of a miracle, above all that we typically call awe inspiring, because Jesus the Son of God has decided to live in you and me.
