- Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation
, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?” (Gen 18:18)
God wants to take our deepest pain and take us into the highest purpose for our lives! I’m not saying everyone will be a Billy Graham, not at all. I’m saying God connects with our deepest pain, giving us healing and hope and when we believe Him, that puts us on the path to the highest purpose we can offer with our lives. Simply, God comes to align our lives with His great purpose for them, by connecting with our deepest pain.
Abraham, who was formerly Abram (Gen 17:5) had a problem, no he walked with a deep pain inside. Specifically, he had no child of his own. Even when God changed his name and told him what he was to become, “a Father of many nations”, he still did not have a child. However, God needed a man to walk before Him to be a Father of many nations, and Abraham wanted to be a Father. God came on scene offering Abraham healing and hope and the highest purpose Abraham’s life could offer, Abraham came with His pain! That’s how God takes us from pain to purpose!
Every child of God, is a son or daughter of Abraham, the Father of our Faith. God wants to deal with us the same way he dealt with Abraham. We all have a deep pain we carry that God wants to connect with and when He does, we will have healing, hope beyond measure, and we will step into the highest purpose our lives could offer. God wants to take you from pain to purpose!
The New Testament author of Hebrews said it this way…. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Heb 11:1)
