“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Co 5:7
“Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.(Hab 2:4)
“…NOW THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH; BUT IF ANYONE DRAWS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.” (Heb 10:37-38)
NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. (Heb 11:1 Amp)
I think the word faith jumps out to us in this verse, but I would like to point out in the part “being the proof of things“, this word “things” in the greek is pragma, most likely where our word pragmatic is derived from, second it means a deed, by implication an affair, by extension an object(material) the english words that render this best are-business, matter, things, work.
FAITH IS EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN, BUT VERY REAL
Faith is the rope tied to the bucket of reality, dipping itself into the fullness of God. Lester Roloff, “Faith,Food and Fasting”
“Faith is the foundation of Christian Character and the security of the soul.” E.M Bounds
“Faith is the Christian’s keeping power. “Who are kept through the power of God through faith.”” Lester Roloff
“Faith is not an abstract belief in the Word of God, nor a mere mental conviction, nor a simple agreement of the understanding and will. Neither is it a passive acceptance of facts, however sacred or thorough. Faith is an operation of God, a divine illumination, a holy energy implanted by the Word of God and the Spirit in the Human soul” E.M Bounds, “The Necessity of Prayer”
Faith is a gift!
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Rom 10:17)
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (Rom 12:3)
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (Eph 2:8)
“So Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Mat 17:20)
Yet faith is very often called upon to wait patiently before God, and is prepared for God’s seeming delays in answering prayer. Faith does not grow dishearted because prayer is not immediately honored. It takes God at His Word, and lets Him take what time He chooses in fulfilling His purposes and in carrying on His work” E.M Bounds The Necessity of Prayer
For the Children of God faith is the only road to take!
“When nothing whereon to lean remains,
When strongholds crumble to dust,
When nothing is sure but that God stil reigns,
That’s just the time to trust.
`Tis better to walk by faith than sight
In this path of yours and mine,
In the pitch black night with no outer light,
That’s the time for faith to shine.”
